I currently am feeding my cat a mixture of By Nature Organics and Blue Buffalo.

I chose those brands based on the ingredients, and not the ”advertisements”.

I am very confident in both of these brands (even though the Blue Buffalo kitten formula has been recalled, none of their other products contain the ”rice protein” that caused the recall).

IF it was truly organic, and the ingredients in the bag were all quality ingredients, without corns, and wheat, fillers and chemical preservatives.. Organic really has no meaning, it’s a vague term, which people perceive to be wonderful, clean, and natural, when it truly doesn’t always necessarily mean that.

    Edit:

Blue Buffalo cat/dog foods were just recalled.. You should check the news..

    Blue Buffalo recalls products
Wilbur-Ellis Co., the U.S. importer of the tainted rice protein, said Thursday it was recalling all the ingredient it had distributed to five U.S. pet food manufacturers. The San Francisco company in turn urged its customers to recall any products that may be on store shelves.

So far, just two of those companies have done so: Natural Balance Pet Foods and Blue Buffalo Co.

Natural Balance, of Pacoima, Calif., announced a limited recall Monday of its Venison and Brown Rice canned and bagged dog foods, Venison and Brown Rice dog treats and Venison and Green Pea dry cat food.

Blue Buffalo, of Wilton, Conn., followed Thursday by recalling 5,044 bags of its Spa Select Kitten dry food. The company intercepted most of the kitten food before it reached distribution centers, company co-founder Billy Bishop said.

FDA officials would not release the names of the other two manufacturers that Wilbur-Ellis supplied, citing its ongoing investigation.

  4. I buy whatever the best ingredients are, like the first ingredient being chicken, beef, fish, etc… The other foods are garbage, the ones that have cornmeal and ground corn as there first ingredient. Besides I have always bought the best and since that pet food recall has come about, none of the foods that I feed my pets have been on there.

I prefer to cook my dogs food daily from scratch, But if I had to go with bag food it would have to be a Holistic Food.
The cost is never an issue for me.

been eating dog food for years.
seems to be okay to me.
(edit: the dogs that is, not me. they do seem to like to get into my breakfast cereal though. :)

if there’s a specific problem that the vet says would be helped by organic food, then i would.
if it’s just so i can log on to Yahoo Answers and brag that i’m buying organic pet food, no thanks.

could i afford it? yep. is it worth it? probably not. i don’t use it (organic) for myself. and i’m still around.

what part of your conscience requires you to buy organic pet food?
you might go get it checked out.

i would buy the cheap one that doesnt cause all those diseases obviously and then add some of my home made food with it

  9. no because it might lack some of the ingredients nutrition.
And if they get use to it they might not eat other foods and that will cost u a fortune. Normal pet food is expensive enough these days
