do you know if it’s easy to tame a cockatiel?
Hi! I can help you! …
Hi! I can help you! I have tamed budgies before and it’s quite easy. The first thing I need to know about your budgie; how old is it? Pet stores usually lie about the birds age, so the safest way to determine your budgies age is by looking at its eyes; if its eyes are totally black(no white iris), then it’s a baby. It’s much easier to tame a young bird, but that doesn’t mean that it’s impossible to tame an adult. Feel free to PM me, so that I can help you without the character restriction.
Try just sitting …
Try just sitting next to your bird cage so it becomes attached to you sitting next to his cage.
After that, try getting an sweet on the palm of your hand and put your hand in the cage.
The point of this is to get your budgie to go get the sweet.
This may take a while, but it is worth it.
Continue this procedure for as long as it takes to get it on your hand without an sweet.
Then try to pet him.
If it keeps avoiding your hand, stop for the day and try again tommorow.
After a few days of trying,

The content of the …
The content of the video has little to do with the title. You failed to tell someone how to choose a bird or how to train one. The first step is research. You can’t do enough of it. A parrot must become a family member, not merely an ornament. They need a lot of personal attention. Second, select a bird that shows interest in you, and is interactive. Never discipline a bird. Use positive reinforcement instead. And realize that you will be bitten sooner or later, and it’s never the bird’s fault.

katiesaad99 you can either check out my training tips on my channel/videos, and if that doesn’t help, send me a private message and I will help you train your birds better. I am an experienced trainer and have changed negative bird behaviour right around.
I agree with the …
I agree with the other two – my birds are very well cared for. They have top of the line holistic diets that keep their diet balanced, which wouldn’t happen in the wild. They have regular vet checkups and go to a vet any time there’s any doubts about their health. They are in a sheltered home out of the stormy weather and have 2 sets of toys, alternated to prevent boredom, each of which satisfy a particular activity need (preening, comfort, activity, destruction, etc.) and are never caged.
actually you know …
actually you know nothing about how bird’s are kept today. All the top bird people and bird books reccomend out of the cage time daily. I keep my two parakeets in a 20″x20″x34″ cage. Plenty of toys, daily they get out of their cage and play on their play gym.
Do your research. …
Do your research. They’re much smarter than “puppies” and need to be trained and reprimanded using completely different methods. They’re flock animals so yelling at a screaming Cockatoo
only encourages the behavior because it’s how they communicating with (you) their flock in the wild. Also, consider adoption. I adopted a Blue and Gold Macaw and an Umbrella Cockatoo from Craigs list. Parrots require a lot of one on one time and regular vet visits. I love them dearly and I’m glad I adopted.

Wow, a PETA …
Wow, a PETA Supporter. The fact is, these birds are raised and cared for by humans, and do VERY well, have happy lives, as long as the owner is well educated on parrots before getting them. If it were up to PETA, people wouldn’t have any pets, and these animals would be forced to live shorter lives after they become prey for predators. Parrots are prey animals, and don’t have the same happy life in the wild people like you want people to believe. My birds are happy, and will live long lives.
Pet shops keep …
Pet shops keep selling these birds and it’s nothing more than blood money. It’s disgusting, parrots are far too complicated to be living in peoples houses in cages. The bird mills are no better than the puppy mills, stop selling birds Petland, do the birds a favor. They are only a generation or two from the wild, these birds will not adapt easily, they do not make good pets, and they don’t deserve to stay cooped up in a cage just so the mess is less. It’s sickening that shops peddle these birds
