Just wondering if it is ok for dairy products to be in the ingredients of brand name dog foods. And are dairy products good for dogs anyway?
A little is fine. I wouldn’t go with too much. There really isn’t all that much in most dog food. Raw eggs aren’t good for dogs as it robs their system of biotin.
eggs arent dairy products they are protein. um, yeah it should be fine a small amount but a large amount can give them the runny stools

I would go with raw meat diet. Check out BARF diet program. Over the course years, domesticated Canines has adopted human eating habit, however, it is not necessary good for them. Look at all these recall brands! And stay out of any canned dog food.

egg’s are good for the coat-the things you want to stay away from in dog foods are things like corn it is not easy for a dog to process but it is cheap filler. i would go with a natural dog food like wellness or artimis you will get a better product and be sure its not tainted by the recall

Im sure that if idairy products were in the ingredients that it would be ok for the dogs unless the dog has certain types of allergies.I think that the egg helps give them a shiny coat also.

When dog food uses eggs or other dairy products it is for protien. But in small amounts btw. Juss keep your dog on a basic diet. I have 4 dogs, and they eat Purina dog food. And on the back of the bags tells you how much to give and info on what your feeding them. But if you feed them just dairy products they will get sick-not fun. Sometimes they drink some of the milk outta my bowl after I eat cereal once in a great while and nothing happens but I guess it depends on the dog also. So juss water and dog food is fine-they are happy with it. And that other answer with raw meat only——it’s expensive and they could get sick or worse if you don’t know exactly where it came from or how old and so on.

Personal experience
An egg on occasion is very good for dogs. Not everyday, but maybe one every 10 days – 2 weeks. A little more often in winter when coats can dry. Stir a raw egg in with dry food. Dairy — not so much – dogs, like people can be lactose intolerant. Can be a nasty surprise when they sleep with you, or if they are curled under the table when important company is there.

I have always wondered why eggs fall into the dairy category! That is so strange. Eggs, cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese are good for dogs. No milk.

Eggs are miracle foods! They’re superb sources of minerals, vitamins, protein, and omega fatty acids. In laymen’s terms, they’re excellent for your dog and those fatty acids will keep your dog’s coat healthy and shiny. In even shorter words, eggs are more than good for your dog!
Dogs lose their ability to digest milk sugar (lactose) as they age, just like us. As a result, if you’re dead set on feeding milk/milk products, you’ll have to introduce it slowly and in small increments. However, products like yogurt and cheese contain important probiotics/cultures that are beneficial to your dog and will help digest the lactose. Yogurt is highly recommended for its probiotics, and I feed all my dogs an egg+a spoonful of yogurt per day.
I also wanted to add that one of my dogs is violently allergic to cheese. Incidentally, dairy products happen to be one of the three most common allergens in canines.

Some dairy is okay for dogs but not on a regular basis. The stuff they put in dog food is dehydrated and not human consumption quality. Just like most things it’s okay in moderation. Cottage cheese and plain yogurt are actually good for dogs with sensative or upset stomaches.

technically its not good for anyone. im vegan so i know all the gross nast sh*t they put in milk and yogurt and all that other crap. being vegan i wouldnt reccomend it, but its your chow

They tell you to feed your dog egg when she’s pregnant, all my dogs have milk for a treat every once in a while, they love it, but I wouldn’t over do it, my terrier loves to eat cheese when he’s training, but again I try to keep it in small amounts, not because its bad for them, but because it is known to cause upset bellies in some dogs. I don’t risk it.
It is not bad for dogs, but dairy products and fruit I don’t feed much of.

They are ok. Even "raw" ingredients not in dog food are ok for dogs.

Eggs help make the coat shiny. Dairy may cause loose stools so should probably be limited.
